Hugs Stanfield's MoodBoard by Rachel. Thank you for portraying in pictures what I saw in words.
Harmony Stanfield is the daughter of Cooper Stanfield, front man for the band Mercury Rising, and his second wife Elise. Her father started calling her Hugs as a toddler and the nickname stuck. Some people thought it was cute, some thought it was odd, and her neighbor Jaegar Lombardo laughed and teased her relentlessly about it. She struggled with enough drama in her life to put that laughter very high on her list of monsters.
She has no opinion about the nickname now. Like everything else she's grown up with, there's no way to retroactively change it. Not even Jay Lombardo can go back in time.
And it worked.
For a while.
Until one day she blew out some candles...
And looked in the mirror...
And realized who she was.
With Prince Bunny watching her walk out of the door of her bedroom...
where she sat down and looked up and thought that she may not know exactly who she was, but she knew what she was not: the child wrapped safe and blind in a corner.
Oh she's cute! I just adore the way you described the makings of her nickname. It's so elegantly and strikingly written, and you accomplish to say so much with the choice of a few well chosen words. "She struggled with enough drama in her life to put that laughter very high on her list of monsters." especially stands out: so well written! Really like the aging up sequence too, and once again, your pictures are just stunning. The scenery is gorgeous and sets the tone for the whole story of Hugs. And the expressions you've captured in those shots are really telling a story of their own. My favourite's the full body shot in front of the mirror. All the little details bring so much to the pictures, such as the ballet shoes on the wall next to the mirror. I also really like how the stories of the characters overlap with each other. It ties it all together really nicely. / Ani
ReplyDeleteHugs was born ingame to a couple I've lived and written about for years, and I just loved her. Her mother and father were high maintenance, high drama people who clashed and separated and came back, none of which she understood. She was a very shy little girl who didn't get what was going on around her until now, and she still doesn't really get it but lights are flashing. Some of the characters grew up together, like Hugs and Jaegar, and their childhood relationships definitely color how they feel now. Doesn't mean they stay the same though.
